So. I made a deviantART like...two and a half years ago. On that chilly November morning I promised myself that I would update...get a better camera...take some time to draw some pictures...write some new poetry. Do Something. But alas and alack, I'm a horrible procrastinator. In theory I am a senior at Riverside High School. In theory. I've managed to pass all my classes except one...pre-calculus advanced. I believe I have a 69. One measly point away from passing. Just one measly point. Now the question is, will they hold me back because I'm not passing that class by one point, or will they let me go on to whatever it is that I have scheduled for next year. I only need two more credits anyways, and math isn't one of them. At least I don't think it is. Math isn't my forte, nor is it a priority when it comes to my future. I keep rumbly-tumbling all the ideas in my head about what I have planned for my future. First...I wanted to be a photographer. Maaaany moons ago. That really hasn't changed. Then I wanted to be a journalist. Maaaaany moons ago. That idea hasn't really changed much...then I wanted to be a photojournalist. Kind of like a foreign correspondent. You know, travel to third world countries, taking pictures and writing about the opression that I see around me. Thinking back on it, I still want that life. But then...thank you television...I wanted to be a fashion photographer. Quite a leap, don't you think? Even if I can't be pretty, it would be nice to take pictures of those who are...So I'm not godzilla or anything...but still. There are so many girls out there who are waaaay prettier than me. Depressing thought. I won't brood on it. Moving on, anyways...I wanted to be a fashion photographer because, just watching shows like America's Next Top Model [I'm sorry, it's a guilty pleasure.] I was fascinated by how a photographer can take those pictures and, with a little but of photoshop, turn it into something altogether new. Fleeting fancy, but I wouldn't turn it down if someone offered it to me. After that, for some reason or another, I wanted to be a graphic deisgner. I'm not quite sure what pushed me into that field. But now, when I think back on it, I can't imagine why on earth I would want to be a graphic designer. I'm anything but patient and I would hate to have to spend hours and hours and hours on a computer designing something for a company I probably wouldn't like in the first place. And on top of all of the transitions and decisions I have yet to make, I've been watching Gilmore Girls [another guilty pleasure that I can't help...] almost religiously. My friend Sadie let me borrow all of the seasons so I've been watching them in order. Before I even started watching Gilmore Girls I wanted to lead Rory's life. And then after I started watching it again recently, I realized that I shouldn't have changed my original passion of Journalism. And because I want to be an artist, I'll never give up my passion for photography. I really do want to be a photojournalist and I'm glad my weird little "no i wanna be this no i wanna be this no i wanna be this" phase is over. I'll stick with journalism and photography. Hmm. I'm glad I got that off of my chest. Now a new dilemma....but maybe that will wait for my next journal entry.
